The Christian Assistance Network (C.A.N.) was founded in 1999 when a group of individuals felt led by God to help a family in need. The father, who was the primary breadwinner, had fallen ill and was unable to continue working. The family struggled to meet their daily needs and their home was in need of many repairs. The founders of C.A.N. not only made the repairs but also helped the family find proper medical care and provided financial guidance. Their persistence, Christ-like love and service eventually led the family to a relationship with Jesus Christ. Since then, C.A.N. has aided the disabled, helped pay medical expenses, helped find jobs for the unemployed and homes for the homeless and encouraged community members to volunteer for local service organizations.
Clients receive help from the Christian Assistance Network in many different ways. All financial assistance is paid directly to a business, landlord, vendor, etc.; no cash handouts are given. We help as a financial and a skill-building resource. We also help clients improve their skills. Each client is assessed through an intake process, and each individual's or family's needs are met on a case by case basis.
