About

Volunteers of CAN 300x225 AboutOur mission is to help the poor, disabled, disadvantaged and elderly with the basic needs of food, clothing, housing and medical expenses. We strive to assist those individuals and/or families who are experiencing a “Crisis” in their lives. A Crisis might be financial– due to a loss of employment, medical – due to a recent change in the health status of a family member, or psychological - due to a stressful situation in your daily life.

The Christian Assistance Network was founded in 1999 when a group of individuals felt led by God to help a family in need. The father and primary breadwinner had fallen ill and was unable to continue working. In addition to struggling to meet their daily needs the home was in need of many repairs. This dynamic group not only made the repairs but also helped the family find proper medical care, and provided financial guidance. Their persistent Christ-like love and service eventually led the family to a relationship with Jesus Christ. Since then, CAN has aided the disabled, provided financial assistance for medical expenses, found jobs for the unemployed and even encouraged community members to volunteer for local organizations.

There are many different ways that clients can receive help from the Christian Assistance Network.  First of all, CAN will help to pay for immediate necessities that families or individuals need. This can include helping with energy bills, rent or mortgage, food and clothing, home repair, medical necessities, and transportation.  All of this assistance is paid for directly by CAN and cash handouts are never given out. Secondly, CAN will help clients develop skills that they may be in need of, such as budget counseling, debt reduction strategies, and helping to foster stable lifestyles. Thirdly, CAN will advocate for the needs of the clients to third parties.

The need in the Grove City Area is Great so help CAN today by either volunteering or donating !
