Connecting Volunteers to People in Need
Help Support Christian Assistance Network (CAN). There is great need in Grove City Area, but you can help support our ministry financially. We are an emergency relief organization, located in the Grove City Area School District, that provides anything from a ride to work to financial training to paying a house rent so a family isn’t evicted. Every client that CAN helps is personally interviewed to makes sure that there is appropriate need and that CAN’s money will be used efficiently. CAN needs your help. The Grove City area is a great place, but there is great pain and need in the area. The Grove City area struggles with homelessness, alcoholism, and people just in need. The recession has especially hurt the Grove City area, but CAN is doing its best to spread the restoring and transforming love of Jesus Christ. Help support CAN by donating now. If you still are not sure, feel free to read more about CAN. You can also read about how CAN interacts with its clients or some more information on our financial numbers.
CAN is a 501(C)(3) agency so all donations are tax deductible. CAN spends this money very responsibly, with as much of the money going to the client as possible. Of the money given to CAN, 94% is used to directly help clients in the Grove City Area. The 6% left over is used to fund essential services for the organization such as advertising and liability insurance. CAN makes its goal to have as little overhead as possible. We strive to use all of our money to further our ultimate goal, to spread the love of Jesus. We do our best to follow the Apostle James’ advice in James 1:27 “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress.”
As of now, CAN receives much of its budget from churches in the area and other charities in the community that have taken an interest in this particular avenue for reaching out to those in need in the community. United Way is the primary source of funds for CAN; this year United Way has agreed to give us $20,000. This continual support from United Way has been essential for CAN continued work, but there is still so much that can be done if CAN were able to receive more funds. Being that CAN is a community organization we also want to see an increase in individual sponsors from our community because community commitment is so important. This needed increase in funds could be extremely important due to the nature of crisis aid, it is never certain how large the demand might be and the demand is expected to increase due to the economy.
